Nikkei 225 Gained 0.95 Percent Towards The End of Trading

CyberAgent Inc (TYO:4751) had the greatest performance on the Nikkei 225 during the session, gaining 6.94% or 84.00 points to close at 1,294.00. In late trading, Nippon Yusen K.K. (TYO:9101) gained 6.05%, or 167.50 points, to close at $2,938.00, while Advantest Corp. (TYO:6857) gained 4.56%, or 410.00 points, to $9,400.00.

Mazda Motor Corp (TYO:7261) was the poorest performer of the day, falling 2.42% or 27.00 points to end at 1,092.00. JGC Corp. (TYO:1963) down 1.87 percent, or 36 points, to close at 1,894.00, while Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (TYO:7211) fell 1.79 percent, or 11 points, to 603.00.

The ratio of advancing to decreasing equities on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was 2,865 to 708, with 248 remaining unchanged.

Nikkei Volatility, which measures implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, decreased 2.39 percent to 17.15, a new 52-week low.

The price of a barrel of crude oil for January delivery fell by 0.59%, or $0.46, to $77.48. Brent oil for delivery in January declined 0.64 percent, or $0.55, to $84.86 per barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract increased 0.62 percent, or $10.75, to $1,756.35 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY lost 0.64 percent to 138.70 and EUR/JPY fell 0.35 percent to 144.60.

The US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.24 percent to 105.71.
